What stops you from standing up for yourself? New Moon in Scorpio + Pictures
Scorpio is also known for its penetrative ability to look through bullshit and shallowness. It has a deep, incisive and analytical thought; it has a powerful urge to get to the root of the problem.
Hello friend,
Welcome to the month of November. 61 days to 2025.
You know what I saw when I was on the bus last Saturday?
They were putting up Christmas lights!! (photo above) A week into Scorpio Season, and we’re not even in Sagittarius Season. I am sorry but Christmas can wait. I want to enjoy in the changes of seasons and celebrating the dark mysterious time of Scorpio season and Pumpkin spice. Just kidding, I am not into Pumpkin spice. Never. But you know what I mean, why are we rushing to something that will eventually happen anyway? Let me enjoy this moment.

Spooky shock of Scorpio Season:
Scorpio is one of the oldest signs of the zodiac. In some early mythology, the Scorpio is known to be the guardian of the Sun; it represents the shadow, hidden within, and the struggles with the self, but it is also the depth of a person. Where we have Scorpio in our chart, we often experience struggles.
We fail, we get back up and we fail again. We eventually get over to the finish line. The lesson of Scorpio is our wisdom gains through struggles.
Scorpio is also known for its penetrative ability to look through bullshit and shallowness. It has a deep, incisive and analytical thought; it has a powerful urge to get to the root of the problem. Even though the Moon experiences its fall in Scorpio, it’s uncomfortable but it’s what we need to embrace.
Transformative desires — a new moon in Scorpio
A New Moon is a time when the Sun and Moon comes together at the exact degree — it signifies a time of seedings and new beginnings. A Scorpio new moon is meant to invite us to get in touch with our secrets, deep desires and motivations, the shadows at work. Desires that we feel to ashamed to admit or we don’t feel like we deserve. As Scorpio is a sign of taboo — the topics of desires can be fetish, crushing on/ obsessing on someone you shouldn’t but more often it can be when we notice when something is no longer working. For example: be an overdue apology from someone who has hurt you deeply and you wanted an apology but you kept quiet because you didn’t want to rock the boat. So, over time you become resentful toward this person and feeling bitter.
This Scorpio new moon goes the extra mile of uncovering these hidden emotional forces.
This New Moon at 9˚Scorpio occurred on November 1, at 8:46 pm HKT can be revealing and shocking in many ways.
This new moon can be liberating for some and extremely difficult for others. Liberating because now things are out in the open, they are free of the constraint from before and start a new.
But for the other group, they are shocked. And they might try to assert control and lash out because it is “survival”. They attack because they don’t feel safe.
Ready or not, it is here. Use this opportunity to open up the dialogue and cultivate a new path forward. The forward path will be so different that you might not even recognize yourself.
What to do with the Scorpio New Moon?
This is not the most ideal Moon for manifest work as the energy is intense, abruptive and chaotic. But it is a great moon to notice what isn’t working in your life and make adjustment to a more ideal version.
During this time, you must shore up your courage in the face of pressure from all sides. Trust that your convictions and strength will see you through.
Questions to consider:
What stops you from standing up for yourself? is it fear of rejection? Aversion to conflict? People pleasing up-bring? Think of a time when you kept quiet when you should have spoken out. How did you feel then?
Knowing what is at stake, can you think of one small way you can take a stand for what you know to be true?

The prolonged Mars opposite Pluto
Exact on November 3, their opposition has been building up since early October when Mars entered Cancer. Because Mars retrograde this year, this usually a few days long transit will be extended to half a year.
We will discuss more when Mars enters Leo. But for now, Mars in Cancer opposites Pluto in Capricorn feels like:
feeling insecure
Passive aggressiveness
blames and obsessively think about what was sad and who said what
Feeling extreme
Possible manifestations:
Splitting with friends, partners and spouse,
Lashing out on perceived enemies;
Hoarding of power and resources
Uncomfortable and overwhelming changes;
unable to sit still because of difficult feelings;
power struggles
reacting to a thing because “it’s survival”
Remedies for Mars opposite Pluto:
Pay attention of how your ego is tricking you— your ego is too big and your ego is too small is the function of an ego. Remind yourself that whatever you are experiencing is not forever. You can learn, you can adapt, you can find new ways to sort out your situation.
Give Mars a job— Mars does not like to idle. Mars roaming free can be dangerous and anger without an outlet can turn into depression. The good news is that you don’t lack things to do under the current cosmic weather, just make sure what you do is worth fighting for and not some petty bull shit.
Keep your eyes on the prize and you are in this for long haul. because this transit is unusually longer than usual. And you can’t control other people’s behavior, but your own. So it’s good practice to suspend your reaction. Instead of getting mad, concentrate on getting what you want.
Weight lifting can be a good way to manufacture pressure on the body. It can build strength and endurance under the stressful time.
Remember that it is going to take a long time. That means there is no quick fixes. You might just have to put you head down and come up with a long term.

Photos from Astro Tea Time
It’s been a year since I started hosting Astro Tea time with Regina. It’s been a wonderful journey to share my passion for astrology, seasonal cooking, and making meaningful connections.
We always start Astro tea time with a sharing session and ends with an open topic discussion. Reflections of interesting events and stories of the month before, as a way to interpret and illustrate that everyone experiences or reacts to the astro weather differently, even if the themes might be similar. Because some things can only be understood in hindsight.
Learning astrology isn’t to blame the stars for what our problems, but it is learning to choose how to respond to the energy at play. And being in a community of love and support is to realize that you have more options than your habitual copping responses.
If you’re interested in checking it out, the next one is on November 16 and December 21. Message me to keep a spot for you.

+ Fortune favors the code.” by Caitlin Dewey. “AI is coming for astrology and tarot. Not everyone’s okay with that. (A re-upped Links Halloween special)”
+“I hate it. About 10 years ago, Katy Perry was talking to me about the internet armies of all the girl singers, and how cruel and rancid they were. I said, “Well, I wouldn’t know because I’m not on the internet.” She said, “So, who are your rivals?” I just looked at her. It was my steely look. I said, “Katy, I don’t have rivals. I have friends. All the other women singers that I know are friends. Nobody’s competing. Get off the internet and you won’t have rivals either.” — Stevie Nicks, dropping some ice cold common sense. Here is the full interview.
